Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
Bandwidth Place is a free set of internet connection tests. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to your information when you use the site.
What the tests send
Tests only run when you press Go. They send and receive test data between your browser and Cloudflare, which runs the test servers. Like any website, Cloudflare sees your IP address and basic details about your connection while it does this. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We show your internet provider and approximate area on the page, based on your connection. We don’t keep your test results, your IP address or your location on our servers.
Your browser saves your recent results on your own device so you can see them on the history page. They’re never sent to us, and you can delete them there anytime.
Ads and cookies
The site is free because it shows ads from Google. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s My Ad Center, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Other ad companies’ cookies can be managed at aboutads.info.
Where the law requires it, such as in the EU and UK, we ask for your consent before ads use cookies.
Measuring how the site is used
We may use Google Analytics to see things like how many people visit and which tests they run. This helps us improve the site. It doesn’t tell us who you are.
Children
The site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
